IPL 2021 Returns In The UAE
MD: As you know, IPL 2021 halted midway due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in India. Nevertheless, the tournament is all set to make a return in the UAE.
IPL 2021 Till Now
The tournament as you know is the most awaited sporting league. The only other similar events in terms of popularity are ICC World Cups (ODI and T20).
The following was the points table for matches conducted in the 2021 edition. A great thing that many can observe is that CSK has played great in the matches till now. The reason this becomes important is since MS Dhoni might retire after this season, the team can give a great send off to him with the title.
Need Of IPL Given The Ongoing Crisis
While many might argue why importance needs to be given to a sports league why the country is suffering in a pandemic, many don’t know that many people thus are altogether isolated in the lockdown.
IPL might entertain them in a positive way and improve the state of their mind. Not to mention, the stimulation that the Indian economy needs might also get help from it.
Why UAE Was Chosen?
Last year in 2020, the entire edition was held in the United Arab Emirates. These were the stadiums which held the matches back then.
- Dubai
- Abu Dhabi
- Shrajah
While we agree that the tournament is best organized in India, the special circumstances warrant things to happen in a different manner.
Future Of Upcoming Editions
Hopefully, the world and India will recover from this crisis and cricket can return to the country. However, nothing can be said for sure now. BCCI officials should be commended though for their vision as many fans had given up hope that the league’s 2021 version might be cancelled for sure.
Where are the remaining matches of IPL 2021 going to be played?
