Introduction
Led by Sarfraz Ahmed (since 2016), the team is coached by Moin Khan. Quetta for those of you don’t know is the capital of the Pakistani province, Balochistan. They have won the PSL title once in the 2019 edition of the league. In the first couple of seasons, they were the runner-ups. The team has also had some songs written about it and one was also referred to as the ‘anthem’.
Interestingly, Sarfraz has been the captain of the team since the very first season and the winning percentage of the team has been near about sixty percent. 2020 wasn’t that great a year for them as they weren’t even able to make it to the play-offs.
Owners
The owner of this franchise is Nadeem Omar who happens to be the owner of Omar Associates. The firm is based in the port city of Karachi which also happens to be the financial capital of Pakistan. It would have been better though if the owner had been from Balochistan itself.
Home Ground
Their home ground is the Bugti Stadium which is located in the city of Quetta. It isn’t that popular a ground and only one ODI has been played here. Also, no PSL matches are going to be conducted at Bugti ground as per the press release of the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board). Hopefully, someday matches will be conducted here and the Baloch people will be able to enjoy their team’s games in Quetta.

- The record for the maximum number of wickets is with Mohammed Nawaz.
- Vivian Richards is their batting coach and also a mentor.
- Legendary Pakistani cricketer, Abdul Razzaq is the assistant coach.
- Bowling coaching is provided by Umar Gul.

PSL 2020
The team came second last in the league table. They lost all of their last three matches. While they did score equal points as the Peshawar Zalmi, they had a poorer net run rate. The total number of points which they secured were nine.

PSL 2019
This season’s league phase was one of their best since they finished second. Interestingly, the topmost team too had a similar number of points as them (fourteen). They won seven matches while winning three. Out of the five last league matches, they won four and lost just one.

PSL 2018
Their performance in this season was average since they finished fourth. Though they could have finished third as well but they had a poor run rate as compared to the Peshawar Zalmi. The positive thing was that they managed to win the last three matches back-to-back in the double round-robin stage.

PSL 2017
A great tournament for them as they came in second in the double round-robin stage. Unfortunately, one of their matches got cancelled and they were tied with the Peshawar Zalmi in terms of the number of points. This season too is a classic case of close T20 competition.

PSL 2016
They had an equal number of points as the Peshawar Zalmi but because of net run rate, they had to stay satisfied with the second position. They lost just a couple of matches in the entire tournament. The other teams below them were way behind.
